Greetings fellow baseball fans!
Well, it is that time of year again.
One of the saddest times of year, if you ask my opinion. The excitement of the World Series has ended
with the Boston Red Sox emerging as victors and World Champions! Now it is time to look to the future. While I am indeed sad that the off season has
come, I am excited because it gives me a chance to rekindle the love and
passion that I have for this great game!
If they haven’t done so already, General Managers from all thirty teams
will start the planning or rebuilding phase.
They’ll look at what they resources they have to work with (on a
financial level) and they will go from there.
They’ll look at what players they have that will be back next year and
they’ll also look at the players that will be free agents. They will work with the free agents to agree
on terms if they wish to keep them. If
teams decide that a certain player is not in their current or future plans,
then they will part ways with said player.
Unfortunately, most people do not grasp the excitement that goes along
with the off-season.
Only true fans of the game really understand this! They understand that even though Opening Day
is months away, there is always something to get excited about when it comes to
baseball! A lot of trades and big free
agent signings happen during this time of year and I love it!
Sincerely,
A Baseball Nut
